This is a supportive group aimed at parents of babies under 1, now funded by the National Lottery Community Fund!
This funding allows us to offer:
- FREE entry for parents with their babies under 1 year old (older siblings pay to play)
- FREE hot drink and cake for new parents
- EXCLUSIVE use of the centre for our new parents group
With exclusive use of the centre, you can enjoy a relaxed environment to connect with other new parents over a brew and cake.
We are regularly joined by local experts and family service providers to offer information and support for new parents. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to see who’s attending each week.
This group is especially good for parents who also have an older child, so they can play while you natter!

Libby Thompson, South Lakes Speech and Language Therapy will be joining us to offer support and advice on your baby’s communication and feeding development.
Libby is a paediatric Speech and Language Therapist and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) located in South Cumbria. She has over 25 years’ experience in the field of speech, language and feeding therapy with extensive experience working with children and their families to support complex communication and feeding needs.

Once a month we are joined Ann Bruce, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Breastfeeding Counsellor for South Cumbria Breastfeeding Support.
Ann is passionate about supporting families to meet their own breastfeeding goals. She has run free breastfeeding support groups in South Cumbria for the last 13 years.
Ann can offer support and guidance on feeding your baby. She will happily answer any questions you have, whether you use breast, bottle, or anything in between.
